THE PEACEMAKER

THE PEACEMAKER

Many many years ago
In the town of Albuquerque
Lived a very famous man
By the name of Alvin Perkey

Now Alvin was a lawman
Who was feared by all
The outlaws steered clear of his town
Or else he would make them crawl

Then one day a man appeared
And he gunned old Alvin down
A sudden fear came over folks
For now this was his town

The people shuddered in their boots
All that is except for one
For this brave young man you see
Was Alvin Perkey’s son

A gunfight in the streets was set
One good one bad one had to die
Two shots rang out one man lay dead
And the town breathed with a sigh

The town again was in good hands
For his son now carries on
But alvin’s memory still lingers
Though he is dead and gone

A statue was erected
To this man of great acclaim
A symbol of law and order
Alvin Perkey was his name
