SEE U. S. MARINE POEM AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

THIS WEEK'S 2 POEMS ARE POSTED 2 DAYS EARLY AS I WILL BE ON VACATION.

MY GRANDKIDS (This poem was written in December of 2000)

This poem is about my grandkids
They number only three
But whether three or twenty they mean
Everything in the world to me

Jason is my oldest grandson
Sometimes he gets out of sorts
The thing that gets him back on track
Is his zealous love of sports

Alex is the middle child
He’s always being scolded
But that’s o.k. because at three
His mind is still being molded

Lindsay is the youngest one
Her eyes look up at me and flutter
It’s no wonder when I look at her
I become a pool of melted butter

The one thing that I’m hoping for
Is to be able to see them fully grown
It would make me a great-grandpa
When they have children of their own

The last verse that I’m writing here
Is really quite plain for all to see
I love them all with all my heart
They will always be a part of me

On the day of her installation as newly appointed
President of our congregations Sisterhood (Only a few members of our leadership knew her identity prior to that morning), the Lord woke me at 4 a.m. and through the Holy Spirit, gave me these words of encouragement for her.

MY INTERCESSORY PRAYER FROM GOD

This is a day of jubilation
Through the power of the Holy Spirit
You have responded well to Yeshua’s call
From the moment that you heard it

The Lord will pour out blessings upon you
That will fill your days and nights
And through His love and power
He will guide your way unto new heights

The goals that you seek in this new year
As President of the Sisterhood
Will surpass your expectations
For God’s Glory and His Good

ARE YOU WAITING ON THE ROAD

Only God knows the reason that
He gave me the gift to write spiritual poetry
It is not for me to question why
But to share it with those who would like to see

He chose this avenue to be my ministry
Blessing these words that I can share
Bringing both pleasure and enlightenment
To some and to others who did not care

I am just one of the many of God’s vessels
That He uses to bring lost sheep into His flock
So that they would get to know Messiah
And in doing so stand steadfast on the rock

What a blessing and a joy it is to know the truth
That one day all of the world will be free from strife
When Yeshua breaks through Jerusalem’s eastern sky
And that we will become one with God for eternal life

SOUTHERN BELLES

SOUTHERN BELLES

A couple of friends have just asked me
To write a poem about two southern gals
This one came real easy to me
Because we are the best of pals

They both have such rare qualities
Wit compassion and southern charm
When the three of us go out together
We always go out arm in arm

These southern belles are special
They pick me up when I am blue
If you ever got to know them
You’d know why I feel like I do

Would I trade them for a fortune
Well I guess that all depends
I hope you see that I was just kidding because
Money could never replace my two best friends

WRITTEN FOR MY WIFE ON VALENTINE"S DAY

EVERY DAY

Every day is Valentine’s Day for me
You can’t convince me that it’s not true
Because not one single day goes by
That I’m not in love with you

You never want flowers or candy
And you’re always there for me in every way
This poem expresses just how grateful I am
For all of the things that you do each day

One thing that I can say without reserve
Is that you are number two in my heart
After the Lord who brought us together
Knowing that our lives would never part

ANY TIME/ANY PLACE

ANY TIME/ANY PLACE

Have you ever traveled on a bus
It’s a long trip and may bore you
But God puts us in situations such as this
That will manifest into something new

I have a friend that took that ride
Whose spiritual life did not exist
But on this trip he would seek the L-rd and
Receive the Salvation he could not resist

It may happen on a bus or train
God chooses the time and place
Perhaps it comes in a somber way
Or hit you smack dab in the face

For those who do not know Messiah
Yeshua died to absolve you of sin
No matter if you are Jew or Gentile
It’s the way to God that’s all win/win

Once the light of God’s Truth has set you free
It comes with an enormous amount of perks
Because you said you were not ashamed
He will bless you with abundant works

The Lord has granted you eternal life
Treasures that surpass your wildest belief
The gates of heaven await your arrival
In a place void of sickness strife and grief

Now it is your turn to give back
By Sharing God’s Word with others
So that they also may receive these blessings
And join God’s Army of sisters and brothers

FOR THY NAME SAKE

FOR THY NAME SAKE

Together we are one with God
His Rightiousness is the goal we seek
Uttered only by the grace of God
Depending on the words we speak

If we don’t espouse God’s Word
Do you think that He would be pleased
Somehow I don’t think so
God will just not be appeased

Even this is not enough
We must profess His Son
Never doubting for one moment
That He is Messiah the Holy One

A sacrificed lamb to absolve all sin
United with us in the Spirit
Each one of us has been given the choice
To receive His Blessing and adhere to it

FORTUNE OR MISFORTUNE

FORTUNE OR MISFORTUNE

I was walking on a stretch of beach
When I began to stumble
I saw the bottle that made me trip
And it began to rumble

I picked it up and it was sealed
So I pulled the cork to look inside
What happened next was an explosion
I thought that I had almost died

But when the smoke had cleared away
A monstrous genie came into view
“As thanks for freeing me, he said,
I’ll grant three wishes just for yoy.”

My first wish was for lots of gold
And when I ‘d gotten done
I was still on the strip of beach
Burning up under a golden sun

The next thing that I wished for
I had wanted since I was a boy
I’d really like an expensive car
What the genie gave me was a toy

I understood right then what was happening
I asked him to check inside his bottle for me
Once inside I sealed the bottle
And tossed it back into the sea

The lesson that I learned from this
Was not to be so filled with greed
The Lord will open many door for you
Providing all that you will ever need
