WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE

What will you be when you grow up
I was often asked as a young child
I said, I want to be a cowboy
And tame the west that's really wild"

I got a few years older and again
I was asked what I wanted to be
I said " I'd like to be a sailor
And sail each and every sea"

Then in my teens they asked again
I Said, "I really didn't know
So I ll get an education and
See which way I want to go"

Years later I became successful and recalled
Always being asked what I wanted to be
The answer was actually very simple
All that I really wanted to be was me

NOT JUST ME

NOT JUST ME

This poem may be about me
It may even tell you who I am
From the past into the present
You will not need a diagram

I am not a man of wealth
My life is an open book
If it peaks your interest
Come in and take a look

I said that I'm not a rich man
But if the truth be told
I have the Lord within my heart and that is
A blessing worth so much more than gold

Because God counted me as a part of His Flock
He sought a wife for me that walked in His Light
And when my Savior chose to put her into my life
He knew that everything would turn out just right

MY EXTENDED FAMILY

MY EXTENDED FAMILY

God in his infinite wisdom
Has chosen to grant me
The wealth and joy
Of an extended family

The love that we share is
Manifested in His praise
And we've all learned
To change our ways

We will be a family always
In heaven or on the earth
Others may see the love that we share
But the Lord alone knows its true worth
