MY LONG LOST ROSE
Amidst my flower garden blooming
There stands a single rose
The most beautiful of flowers
How it got there no one knows
Its radiance sweeps you off your feet
As you view it with sheer admiration
And as the seasons turn to frost
It begins to feel a strange sensation
Finally when the earth has hardened
It begins to lose that grand array
For it senses something missing
And its withering blossoms fade away
All throughout the winter season
It replenishes a quality oh so rare
Where some just never make it
Because it’s as if they didn’t care
Comes the spring when all is warm
It always seems to re-appear
There must be something special
That makes it grow year after year
The barren spots around it must be filled
Many are planted but only one grows
And whenever that flowers start to blossom
I know that I will see my long lost rose
